Symptoms and mood
Esta página aún no está disponible en tu idioma.
Two cards on the visit page track how the patient is feeling:
- Symptoms: the symptoms checked for, and whether each was present.
- Emotional State: the patient’s mood and stress level on a given day.
Each card shows a compact view. The expand button opens a larger one. On a closed visit, both cards are read-only.
Symptoms
Section titled “Symptoms”Choose Add Symptom to record symptoms. Everything you enter in one go is saved together as one entry.
- Set the Date the symptoms apply to.
- Fill in one row per symptom. When the patient has chronic diagnoses, the form starts with a row for each symptom linked to them. Choose Add Symptom Row for more, or pick from the symptom catalog on any row. Opening the list shows a first set of symptoms; type at least three letters to search the whole catalog by name. Three letters find names in your language with a word that starts with them; four or more find them anywhere in a name, in any of the catalog’s languages. The best matches come first.
- Mark each symptom Present or Absent. For a present symptom you can
also set:
- Severity, from 1 (mildest) to 10 (most severe);
- Duration, in minutes;
- Body Side: left, right, bilateral, or not applicable.
- To record a different time for one symptom, use the calendar button at the start of its row. Reset to batch date undoes it.
- Optionally add a Comment for the whole entry. It is saved as your comment, apart from the patient’s own note.
Rows with no symptom chosen, or not marked present or absent, are not saved.
When you record symptoms during a visit, the entry is linked to that visit. Recording symptoms can raise alerts for the patient.
The table lists one row per entry, newest first, with its date and the symptoms in it. Choose the symptom count to see each symptom with its severity, body side, duration and time. The expanded view adds the comment.
Entries can’t be edited. To correct one, delete it and record it again. Deleting an entry deletes every symptom in it. You can delete any entry recorded by your organization, including a colleague’s. Entries the patient recorded themselves have no delete button: only the patient can delete them.
Symptoms count as vital signs when the patient chooses what to share with your organization. If the patient stops sharing vital signs, or their access for your organization expires, the Symptoms card shows nothing, and trying to record symptoms tells you that you are not allowed to.
A symptom that has been removed from the catalog can no longer be picked or recorded. Entries that already include it still show it.
Emotional state
Section titled “Emotional state”Choose Add Emotional State to record how the patient feels:
- Pick the Date.
- Pick the Stress Level: calm, relaxed, comfortable, nervous or anxious.
- Pick the Mood: happy, relaxed, indifferent, sad or angry.
- Optionally add a Comment.
A patient can have more than one entry on the same day. When you record an entry during a visit, it is linked to that visit.
Each entry gets two scores from 0 to 100, where higher is better:
- Patient Index puts the most weight on the patient being calm.
- Company Index is the same score, except that it rates a comfortable stress level above a calm one.
The card shows the Patient Index as a chart, averaged per day. Switch to the table to see each entry’s stress level and mood. The expanded table adds both indices and the comments: yours, and the patient’s own, labelled Patient comment.
Entries can’t be edited. To correct one, delete it and record it again. You can delete any entry recorded by your organization, including a colleague’s. Entries the patient recorded themselves have no delete button: only the patient can delete them.
Filtering
Section titled “Filtering”When the visit filter on the visit page is on, both cards show only the entries recorded during this visit. Otherwise they show the patient’s whole history.
Dashboard
Section titled “Dashboard”The dashboard includes an Emotional State chart. It averages the Patient Index of the patients you can see, per day, week or month, and compares it with their average Company Index. It follows the dashboard’s date range and tag filters. To protect patients’ privacy, no average is reported for a period in which fewer than three patients have entries. Such a period is left as a gap in the chart, not drawn as 0, and a note under the chart says so. When every period in the range is hidden this way, the chart shows a message instead.
Who sees what
Section titled “Who sees what”Viewing and recording symptoms, and viewing and recording emotional state, each need the matching permission. The dashboard chart needs its own analytics permission.
- Staff see the entries recorded by their own organization. They also see the entries patients recorded themselves, once the patient has accepted your organization.
- Patients record their own symptoms and emotional state in the patient app, with an optional note of their own. They see every entry about them, from every organization, and can delete only the entries they recorded themselves: the patient app shows the delete button on those entries only.
