Visit Page

Esta página aún no está disponible en tu idioma.

The visit page is where a visit’s clinical work happens. It opens from the Active and Closed lists. Requested and scheduled visits open a preview on their own lists instead.

  • Top bar, from left to right:
    • Back.
    • Follow and Monitor, for the patient (see below).
    • The patient’s current status within the visit.
    • A switch between chart and table views of the patient’s data.
    • Visit only, which limits the view to what was recorded in this visit.
    • Generate, for the visit report (once the visit is closed) and the prescription as PDFs, on the Enterprise plan (see Documents).
    • Updates delayed, shown only when live updates are unavailable (see below).
    • The people who have this visit open, as avatars. A green ring means they are looking at it now; yellow means they have it open in a background tab or window. Hover to see their names.
  • Centre: the patient’s clinical records, such as vital signs, diagnoses, prescriptions, allergies, and lab and imaging orders. You record them here as part of the visit. Monitoring groups the patient’s alerts, care plans and risk scores. Last comes Documents, the PDFs generated for this visit; download your own from there.
  • Right panel: Visit Details — the request reason, chief complaint, additional notes and, for a reopened visit, why it was last reopened — followed by the patient’s history (chronic diagnoses, allergies, surgical history and family history, which only the patient can change) and the visit’s timeline. The timeline shows every status change and every change to the visit’s records, newest first.
  • Bottom bar: the actions for the visit’s current state.

If a colleague has the same visit open, you see that they are working on it, and the sections they change refresh within a second or so. Your own avatar turns yellow for colleagues when you switch to another tab.

If live updates stop working, for example during maintenance or when your network connection drops or your computer wakes from sleep, the top bar shows Updates delayed within about half a minute and the page checks for changes every 30 seconds until they are back. Nothing you enter is affected; only how quickly you see colleagues’ changes.

If you lose access to the visit while it is open, for example because your role changes or the visit is deleted, live updates for it stop within five minutes.

The top bar shows whether you follow the patient and whether your organization monitors them, so you can change either without leaving the visit:

  • Follow adds the patient to your Followed patients. The patient does not need to be monitored.
  • Following opens Unfollow. If you can only see the patients you follow, it is shown without the menu, since unfollowing would close the patient to you.
  • Accept follow request appears when the patient asked you to follow them.
  • Primary caregiver or Assigned to you shows that a colleague who assigns caregivers linked you to the patient. Only they can change it.
  • Monitor turns on your organization’s monitoring of the patient, and Monitored opens Stop monitoring. Monitoring counts towards your plan; see the patient page for this month’s count. If you can’t change monitoring, the top bar shows whether the patient is monitored. Neither appears if your plan does not include monitoring, or your organization has not accepted the patient.

Use the status control in the top bar to record where the patient is:

  • Not Arrived
  • Waiting
  • Examination
  • Imaging
  • Laboratory
  • Discharged

Press and hold to confirm a change. Discharged is final, unless it is deliberately overridden. If you can’t change the status, the top bar shows it without the control.

Add Observation adds a free-text clinical note to the visit, recorded under your name. The card shows each observation with the time it was made and the name of the person who wrote it. The name is the one they had when they wrote it: if they change it later, their earlier observations keep the old one. Your own observations have an edit button, which opens the text for you to change, and a delete button. Observations recorded by colleagues have neither: only the person who recorded an observation can change or delete it.

Add Aftercare records the instructions the patient leaves with:

  • Instructions (required);
  • Follow-up Instructions;
  • Medications Changed;
  • Return If Symptoms;
  • Activity Restrictions;
  • Diet Instructions.

Use Edit Aftercare to change them later.

The patient only sees aftercare once it has been sent. Send to Patient, on the aftercare card, shares it with the patient in the patient app; it works while the visit is in progress and after it is closed. Once sent, the card shows when it was sent and when the patient first opened it.

Closing takes two steps, both done by pressing and holding the button in the bottom bar:

  1. Hold: Sign Off marks the documentation as complete.
  2. Hold: Close Visit closes the visit. It stays disabled until the patient’s status is Discharged.

The button only appears if you can do the step it is on: someone who can sign off but not close sees it until the documentation is signed off.

A closed visit is read-only, and its page shows a Read-only badge.

A cancelled visit opens from the Closed list. Like a closed visit, it is read-only.

On a closed or cancelled visit, the bottom bar offers:

  • Reopen Visit, which asks for the reason and then returns the visit to in progress (with the patient waiting) so it can be corrected, then signed off and closed again. Its documentation goes back to in progress and has to be signed off again. The reason is recorded in the timeline and shown under Visit Details.
  • Follow-Up Visit, which requests a new follow-up visit linked to this one, at your workspace location and for today’s date, and opens it on the Requested list, where you can schedule it.

Opening a visit needs permission to view visits. Each action needs its own permission: changing the patient’s status, adding observations and signing off need permission to update active visits; writing and sending aftercare and closing need permission to end them; reopening needs permission to reopen visits, and a follow-up needs permission to request visits. Buttons you are not allowed to use are not shown; see Roles.
