Creating a Role

Choose Create on the Roles screen, or Duplicate role on an existing role to start from a copy.
Name and description
Section titled “Name and description”Give the role a Role name that is unique within your organization, and optionally a Description of who it is for. The description is shown beside the role wherever roles are listed.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Permissions are grouped by area, such as patients, clinical records, users or organization settings. Each has a short description of what it allows. Tick Allow for each permission the role should grant. A role needs at least one.
Some permissions depend on others. Managing laboratory tests, for example, requires being able to view them. When you choose a permission, the ones it depends on are included automatically, and they are saved with the role even if you did not tick them.
Choose Create to save. The role can then be assigned to users from their user record.
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Creating roles needs the permission to manage roles. A role can grant any permission, including ones you don’t have yourself; see Roles about what managing roles allows.
